GRAWITZ, ERNST ROBERT (1899-1945) Head of the SS health services and chief SS physician, Ernst Robert Grawitz was the one who advised Himmler to use gas chambers for murdering the Jews. He was also responsible for the medical experiments on prisoners in the concentration camps. Grawitz committed suicide at the end of the war.
